Armor of Unicron

I AM THE KARATE MASTER!

Megatron has always sought power at every turn, and the Armor of Unicron is one of the most striking examples of success. After escaping from the collapsing Energon Sun created to contain Unicron's spark, he had stolen most of what remained of the Chaos-Bringer's power, and his body had been rebuilt with salvaged pieces of the destroyer's armor.<ref>Cybertron Megatron bio</ref>

Now I am the master!

The armor provided Megatron with a significant power boost. Deep It could also heal him much faster than typical self-repair systems, after a protracted battle with Optimus Prime the armor was able to fully regenerate Megatron given only a few seconds of downtime.

Now with 100% more G1.

When Vector Prime collapsed Megatron's fiery pocket dimension in on itself, Megatron used the full power of the Armor of Unicron to rip open the fabric of reality in a bid to escape. Using the armor in this way left it unable to defend its wearer from a blast from the Omega Lock, and it was seemingly destroyed with Megatron when the dimension collapsed on him. Cybertron

Soon after, however, it was revealed that the residual power of Unicron within the armor allowed Megatron to endure, sustaining his spark and form as a noncorporeal "ghost" that appeared on Cybertron in the midst of a battle. Balance In this state, it enabled him to absorb the energy of attacks-and of Transformers themselves-to regenerate his body, as well as upgrade others into stronger forms. After his full revival, Megatron used the remnants of his "ghost" to create an entirely new being, from nothing but the dark thoughts of Leobreaker. Darkness

[edit]

After a mighty battle that pitted the Autobots against the Decepticons and Unicron, Megatron sought more power and searched for the remnants of the disembodied Unicron's spark. From this "lost spark", Megatron forged new armor, being reborn in a new body. Ask Vector Prime 12/21/2005

Notes

[edit]
The intent is there.
  • Megatron's new Cybertron design features obvious design cues from Armada Unicron, which makes it quite clear it was always the intent for Megatron to have acquired this form after absorbing Unicron's power following the dark god's destruction at the end of Transformers: Energon. However, due to the Japanese production of the Cybertron cartoon altering the story to make it separate from Armada and Energon, Unicron was never mentioned in the Japanese version of the series, and the origin of Megatron's powers was not remarked on. References to the Armor of Unicron were inserted into the English dub of the cartoon to re-align it with Hasbro and Takara's original intent for the series, and its origins were covered in both Megatron's English toy bio, and Hasbro's online Ask Vector Prime feature.
