The Artificial Suns (人工太陽 Jinkō Taiyō) are a pair of artificial suns. They were the site of a great battle between the ship Vic Viper, hero of the planet Gradius, and the forces of the Bacterian Empire led by special unit Gofer. Spinning spacecraft and flaming aliens inhabit the surrounding space, and while it is unknown if any planets orbit these suns, they do seem to be orbited by large crystals and, very bizarrely, giant word blocks.

[edit]- The stage is based on the first stage of the 1988 Konami game Gradius II: Gofer's Ambition.
- The background music is "Burning Heat!", the Stage 1 theme from Gradius II.
- The Library profile image for Artificial Suns in DreamMix TV World Fighters is a screencap of its appearance in the NES version of Gradius II.
- The various elements of the Gradius II interface that appear are modeled after those seen in the original arcade release. Notably, the high score is listed as "573000", whereas the default high score for Gradius II is only 57300.
