Autonomous artificial-life bombs are employed by the Thraal. They are AI-driven suicide bombers—enslaved machine intelligences with the sole purpose of reaching their programmed destination and exploding.

The Thraal activated an autonomous artificial-life bomb to undertake an terrorist attack on Sentinel Prime during his tour of off-world Cybertronian colonies aboard the Titan Lodestar. Nautica and Road Rage uncovered the plot and tried to seize the life bomb, but it was equipped with a short-range, single-use teleporter and moved to Lodestar's outer hull. Catching up with it, Nautica spoke its machine language and tried to dissuade it from exploding, to no avail. Road Rage had Lightbright overload a pressurized valve on Lodestar's hull, which blasted the bomb off into space to be safely detonated away from the Titan. Nautica: Home
