Bearbrick (rendered Be@rbrick) is a collectable Japanese toyline made by MediCom Toy Inc. The toys come in the form of building block style bears, often designed after popular culture figures such as superheros, like Batman, or in the case of this article, Transformers.

Toys

[edit]

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Transformers franchise, several transforming toys were released through the Bearbrick line. All of them used the same base mold, either redecoed or retooled. They also fall into the Bearbrick size rating of 200%, which is 14 cm or about the size of a deluxe class figure. A decade later in 2025, Medicom released transforming bears in the 11-inch tall 400% size rating.

Be@rbrick

[edit]

These figures are more traditional-styled Bearbricks which do not transform, but have Transformers characters tampographed on their bodies. These first figures were all released in 2007, following the merchandising glut that came with the first live-action film. These all fall into the standard 100% Bearbrick size rating.

  • Bumblebee Keychain
The Bumblebee keychain figure was released exclusively by participating movie theaters in Japan in 2007.

MediCom X BAIT

[edit]

MediCom collaborated with apparel company BAIT to produce a set that would be released exclusively at SDCC 2017. A second set containing Optimus Prime-themed Bearbricks was also announced, but has not yet been released.

This set is a two-pack including an 11-inch (400%) and 2-inch (100%) version of the same figure.
