Having an interest in lost Cybertronian relics scattered across the galaxy, Storm Horizon Part 1 Spinister's gang of splice thieves had mapped out several of the Black Sphere's planets. When the sage Alpha Trion was following the trail of a lost Cybertronian repository vessel, he had reason to believe it had drifted into the Black Sphere's territory, bargaining with the criminals for usage of a Kworian shuttlecraft. By the time that Ultra Magnus had tracked Alpha Trion to the Black Sphere, the sage was in the company of Soundblaster, whose ship was coming under assault from a Kworian fleet. Storm Horizon Part 2

Donning space armor, Magnus charged into battle, boarding Soundblaster's ship and retrieving his mentor. Despite the ship being caught in the Black Sphere's gravity well, Soundblaster managed to escape and return to Cybertron. Sixty-six cycles later, thanks to the black hole's warping of local spacetime, the Fist of Iacon returned as well. Storm Horizon Part 3
