The Black Viper Go-Bot was to have been a character from the Generation 2 portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Planned as a fourth-wave Go-Bot item for Generation 2, this character transforms into a black [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Dodge Viper (SR II)|{{#if:Dodge Viper|Dodge Viper|Dodge Viper (SR II)}}]]. The figure has through-axle construction to allow for super-fast rolling in car mode. Like its fellow "new"-mold teammates, the figure's rifle stores under the car mode.

Ultimately, this toy went unreleased as Generation 2 was canceled due to poor sales; while it got far enough in production to get paint and character art, actual packaging design has not surfaced and thus the character it was intended to represent remains unknown.

This mold was eventually used to make the Spychanger version of 2001 Robots in Disguise Side Burn and the 2003 Universe version of Generation 1 Jazz.

Notes

• The ad hoc designation "Black Viper" was used in a "Toys For Tots" charity auction listing at BotCon 1996. This wiki opts to use it as a placeholder article title owing the complete lack of any known bio, faction, or gender for this character.
• We assume Hasbro did get somewhere with ideas because "Black Viper" received package art, which was on display during the walking tour of HasCon 2017. Said art was later revealed to the public by Instagram-based fan @roboticplanettoys in 2021. Alas, its existence was discovered too late to appear in 2014's Legacy: The Art of Transformers Packaging, which did include Rumble, "4X", "911", and Hound (but not "Purple Mercedes").
