Blackbeak (Prime)

This article is about the Prime Predacon. For the Beast Wars: Uprising Predacon, see Blackbeak (BWU){{#switch:{{#sub:Blackbeak (BWU)|-1}} != .= ?= .

Blackbeak is a Predacon from the Prime portion of the Aligned continuity family.
His name is a little...on the nose.

For all that Grimwing is measured and honorable, Blackbeak is violent and unpredictable. He is a strange, raucous little creature, somehow generated during the cloning experiment that produced his larger partner. The connection between the two is not understood, even by Shockwave. It can be hypothesized that Grimwing is so different from his fellows because of Blackbeak, that all his rage and aggression was somehow externalized as a flapping, screeching homunculus. Blackbeak neither knows nor cares; his only concern is how often he can provoke a fight.

Tales of the Beast Hunters

[edit]

As Grimwing and Blackbeak made their escape from Shockwave's abandoned cloning facility, they sighted a mysterious robot far below them. Despite Blackbeak's entreaties, Grimwing chose to approach the figure in search of information... Tales of the Beast Hunters Chapter 15

...only to be greeted by Ultra Magnus taking the offensive himself, swatting the Predacons out of the sky with the Forge of Solus Prime. The results were, for Magnus, unsatisfactory on many levels, as Grimwing and Blackbeak made short work of the Autobot, decrying all modern Cybertronians as savages and setting out to defeat the remaining Predacons on their own. Prime

[edit]
  • Grimwing (Voyager, 2013)
    • Series/Number: 2 / 004
    • Accessories: Blackbeak Grapple Launcher
Part of the third wave of Prime: Beast Hunters Voyager Class toys, Grimwing comes with the "Blackbeak Grapple Launcher", a strange birdlike creature who can fire the claw missile in his mouth via pressure-launch, with the missile being tied to him with a length of string. The missile and string can be pulled back into his mouth by pulling and detaching his rear tail-fin panel, to which the other end of the string is tied. Both Blackbeak and his missile can mount/be held via 5 mm post.
This mold was also used to make the weapons of Beast Hunters: Predacons Rising Darksteel and Go! Budora, the latter of which was repurposed as Ferrocious.
