Blizzard Entertainment
Blizzard Entertainment is a North American video game developer and publisher founded in 1991 by Michael Morhaime, Allen Adham, and Frank Pearce under its original name being Silicon & Synapse, Inc, until it was later renamed as Chaos Studios in 1993, and its present name the following year after being acquired by distributor Davidson & Associates. They are widely known for their long-running Warcraft series, including the highly influential massively multiplayer World of Warcraft in 2004. Other titles they have released outside of Warcraft consist of Diablo, Starcraft, Hearthstone, Heroes of the Storm, and the first-person shooter, Overwatch. Blizzard Entertainment is a division of Activision Blizzard, a company formed out of a merger between parent company Vivendi Games and Activision, Inc. In late 2023, the company was acquired by Microsoft and became part of their gaming division under Xbox.
Relevant to this wiki, the company partnered with Hasbro for a Transformers themed promotion in Overwatch 2 during July 2024.
