Bolt-bats are a form of wildlife native to both Cybertron and Nebulos. They presumably are easily shocked and amazed by new sights.

While traversing the tunnels to place a bomb at Vector Sigma, Mindwipe was attacked by a swarm of giant bolt-bats. Mindwipe pleaded with them to stop attacking a fellow bat to little effect and fell down a flight of stairs to escape the animals. Cybertron Is in Grave Danger, Part 2

Beast Wars: Uprising

The ex-Autobot Leatherhide adopted a bolt-bat alternate mode as part of his experiments. Not All Megatrons Bisk would later come across giant bolt-bats while exploring the bowels of Cybertron. The Inexorable March

  • The AllSpark Almanac II declared Skar to be a Nebulan bolt-bat.
  • The bolt-bats in The Headmasters were not named in the episode, only being called "denki kōmori" (電機コウモリ, "electric bat") on the model sheet. Their identification as "bolt-bats" came decades later in Beast Wars: Uprising.
