Butla was created by Tarantulas to complement Skullcruncher's new transtector, and was ridden into battle by Weirdwolf during their attack on Tokyo. When the Autobots showed up to stop them, Weirdwolf had Butla grab Chromedome and held him hostage by forcing him into the drone's dinosaur mode. Though the Decepticons were defeated, Chromedome was unable to get out of Butla and had to live his life as a dinosaur from then on. LG22 Skullcruncher As such, he was in Butla when he reacted to Rattrap getting his hands on Master-Braces, LG28 Rewind and when he went out drinking with Hardhead after a day's work. The two were separated when Rarigo punched Chromedome straight out of Butla, who then returned to the Decepticons. LG30 Weirdwolf Skullcruncher later used his Butla Shot mode to attack Ginrai's transtector, only for it to automatically repair any damage they caused. The Headmasters' Partner Drones were then defeated when Ginrai attacked them with Chōkon Power. LG35 Super Ginrai

Having developed a connection to Chromedome, Butla started hanging out at Axalon Trading Company HQ and came along when the Autobot Headmasters set out to battle Scorponok. Chromedome told the bird to combine with Grimlock so they could join the battle in dinosaur form, and like before the two remained combined afterwards. LGEX Headmaster Set Chapter

Butla was at the Wolf Circus when Scorponok returned and announced his plans to destroy the Legends World and claim its energy. Weirdwolf struggled to remain loyal to Scorponok this time because the Legends World was where Butla and his other partners in the Circus were made. Legends World in Imminent Danger! Part One

By 2039, Weirdwolf and Skullcruncher retired to planet Earth, running a zoo with Rarigo, Butla, and their other friends. Epiloge

  • Skull (Skullcruncher)<ref>The packaging says "スカル" (Skull) in Japanese, but the accompanying English subtitle is "Skullcruncher".</ref> (Deluxe Class, 2016)
  • Release date: July 23, 2016
  • ID number: LG22
Released in the twelfth wave of TakaraTomy's Legends line, Butla is a redeco of the gun/bird/dinosaur accessory which was originally included with Crashbash. Butla can transform into a bird (which can be ridden by Skull's Headmaster stage in robot mode), a dinosaur (which is completed by Skull's Headmaster forming its lower jaw and arms) or a gun that can be used by larger figures via 5 mm post.
As with Crashbash and his redecoes/retools, care must be taken with the gun mode's handle: the handle fits tightly in many 5 mm-compatible closed hands, and combined with the handle's lack of metal pin running through the joint, removing it by force causes the handle to pop out of the joint.
He was only available packed in with Skull.

Notes

[edit]
  • Butla's name is derived from "butler" (バトラー batorā), establishing a pattern with his mold-mate Servant.
  • Butla's behavior is based on stories about [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}cleaning symbiosis|{{#if:||cleaning symbiosis}}]] between crocodiles and certain birds (though actual examples of this behavior are rare).
