You'd think a guy like Mixmaster or Quickmix or Pincher would wield the catalytic carbine, but you'd be wrong. No, this weaponized chemistry set is the property of Tantrum, who probably thinks that the periodic table is a piece of furniture. It sprays its targets with highly reactive chemicals, which combine with any metals they hit to form new, hazardous compounds.

The Transformers Tantrum came with a black gun, identified in his instructions and packaging bio as a catalytic carbine. This toy was also available in a Predaking giftset, which was reissued in 2004 and redecoed for further releases in 2010 and 2017.
