Category talk:Actors
As a point of order, many voice actors have "regular" acting roles, and even without might rankle at being categorized separately from "actors". I think we should we merge all actors into a single category, or make voiceover actors a subcategory of this one. I have a slight preference for the former. --Steve-o 20:43, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- I dunno. For the purposes of Transformers, they're only voice actors, and that's what the wiki deals with. That they have other jobs is irrelevant to me. I would imagine you might find equal amounts of voice actors who might rankle at actors being grouped in with voice actors. After all, voice acting is a specific talent that some feel is being gobbled up by "real" actors who have no business doing their business. I can see an argument based on streamlining and simplification for grouping voice actors as actors general, but not based on the points you have brought up. --ItsWalky 20:50, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
Now that over a year has passed, and Interrobang went ahead and moved VAs into here as a subcategory, my current feeling is that "Actors" itself should contain no articles, and be split into "voice actors" and "on-camera actors". Opinions? (No, I don't know what I would do with a hypothetical person who has had both VO and on-camera roles within the Transformers brand.) --Steve-o 15:23, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Done. And with those that were also voice actors, they're in both categories. Because they already were in two "actor" categories before I made the change.--Rosicrucian 15:49, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
