Would Blitzwing and Octane qualify as Turncoats? They were kicked out of the Decepticons (briefly) and befriended or aided the Autobots but never became an Autobot-proper. Should they be included? --DrSpengler 22:13, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Good question, but I don't think so. Octane didn't really LEAVE the Decepticons, since Galvatron just went kinda nuts and kicked him out. And I don't think he really joined the Autobots so much as he befriended Sandstorm.

As for Blitzwing, he did openly state that he had no interest in joining the 'bots. And again, the only reason that he left the 'cons was because Galvatron threw him out.--Octopus Prime- King of the Road! 22:21, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Cool. Now what about Red Alert? He went insane, teamed up with Starscream and tried to kill all the Autobots. Does temporary insanity qualify one as a Turncoat? --DrSpengler 22:34, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Actually, what about Tarantulas? He left the Predacons on his own accord, but then technically, he was never a member.--Octopus Prime- King of the Road! 22:36, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

  • That is kinda tricky. What about Doubledealer? Or Punch/Counterpunch? Secret undercover agents don't count as turncoats, do they? --DrSpengler 22:38, 2 December 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, double-agents should count. I would have added a category for Punch/COunterpunch, except I don't know if there's an article for him

  • Red Alert is not a tunrcoat, he never became a Decepticon. Punch/Counterpunch is not a turncoat either, he's an Autobot who goes undercover. He never changes which side he is actually on. --KilMichaelMcC 00:16, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

I really don't think Ravage belongs in this category. Ravage was only using the Maximals, recall that he planned to leave "no witnesses," in other words, kill them all. And switching allegiance from the Tripedacus Council to Megatron is still internal Predacon doings.

I think this categoty should be restricted to characters who were members of one faction and actually defected to the opposition. Undercover agents shouldn't count, temporary alliances of convience shouldn't count. --KilMichaelMcC 00:22, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

  • Kay. I'll take out Doubledealer, then. Doubleclouder, whenever he gets an article, should still go here, though, since he genuinely switched sides from Decepticon to Autobot in both the anime and the manga.--DrSpengler 00:45, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Whenever we get around to making pages for G2 Manta Ray and Leadfoot, they should go in here. --ItsWalky 00:40, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

What about Demolisher, Cyclonus (UT) and Tidal Wave? They joined up with the Bot's at the start of Energon, but took up arms with Megatron the minute he reappeared. Also, I think they were described as being "Former Decepticons" at the beginning of Energon.

I'm not so sure about that. The reason they joined with th Autobots at the end of Armada was because that was Galvatron's last command. When Megatron came back, they simply followed his new commands. --FortMax 15:37, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Yeah. The factions kind of merged between Armada and Energon, but once they seperated, it seems everyone went back to where they were. Demolishor might be a borderline case, I guess, but I wouldn't go for it. --Ratbat 01:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

What about people who joined a team or faction with the premeditated intent of betraying them like Cyclones in Wreckers and Megatron/Savage Noble? 69.14.158.214 02:22, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Those aren't turncoats. Those are double agents. --ItsWalky 02:26, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Furthermore, I don't think you're a turncoat if you join the other team because your team was dissembled because its leader died. Is this all the Dinoforce ever did to merit the "Turncoat" category? That shouldn't count. --ItsWalky 02:32, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Dinoking was hurt and the Autobots repaired them so therefor they realized that Deathsaurus didn't think that highly of them so they defected and gave the Autobots specs on the Deathfortress so they could go blow it up.69.14.158.214 02:36, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Is Sentinel Prime a turncoat? He worked with the Decepticons but he doesn't join them or call himself a Decepticon. Pat (talk) 08:37, 12 February 2015 (EST)

Should Windsweeper be included? He was a former Autobot in "Of Masters and Mayhem" (AutoTrooper2801 (talk) 13:24, 1 February 2024 (EST))
