Category talk:Unreleased toys

What do we want to do for unreleased toys that, so far, the fandom dosen't know the names for? I'm talking about figures like the 6 unreleased G2 Gobot molds, G2 "Autojetter" and "Autolauncher", "MW Skywarp/Thundercracker" and MW "Hoist/Hubcap". For the molds that did see release, we could use those names, but in quotes or with "G2" as a prefix. However, that gives no name for the Gobot off-road vehicle and the other car. --FortMax 19:23, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking here. Pretty much everything you list would fall under "pre-release test-shot of a toy that DID come out", and really, I don't see much point in bringing those up in ANY entries.
Now, the two Go-Bot molds that have yet to be released (dammit), should be mentioned... but on the "Go-Bots" page specific to the G2 subgroup, whenever someone gets around to making it. The four fully-painted versions slated for G2 would also be mentioned here, since those were VERY clearly finalized color schemes intended to be released at retail. --M Sipher 19:56, 4 May 2006 (UTC)

Generators

Looking on the toy archive place (with the double pretenders), and saw these REALLY weird monster guys that "transform" by turning upside-down.

Template?

If we incorporate unreleased toys into the nominal sub-headings that the released toys do, I think there should be a template like the {{comingsoontoy}} one to really draw the eye to WAS NEVER RELEASED. Move to "Characters with unreleased toys"?

Should this move to "Category:Characters with unreleased toys"? That would be more accurate. It is misleading to see Sunstreaker (G1) under "Unreleased toys". It shouldn't be too hard to move if the canceledtoy template is changed. - Starfield 07:24, 7 April 2009 (EDT)

Proposing change to "Unreleased products"

I suggest the category title be changed to "Unreleased products" or similar, as we have things like The Transformers Chocolate Flavored Cereal, the unpublished issues from Dreamwave G1 ongoing, TWW Wol 3, Energon, TF/GI Joe Vol 2, Energon MTMTE, and various TPBs (Micromasters, G1 Vol 0, possibly Armada MTMTE), the comics for OTFCC '05, IDW's planned release of a DW G1 Vol 3 TPB, various statues and busts, and the like.

Editing the articles shouldn't bee too labor intensive, as changing the template will take care of most pages. --FortMax 12:40, 4 May 2009 (EDT)
