Story of Binaltech

[edit]

Before his death in the Beast Wars, The Agenda (Part III) Ravage downloaded his consciousness into the flight recorder of his transwarp cruiser, which was lain on Earth when the ship crashed and exploded.

In the time from 1985 to 2005, the recorder was discovered by the Intelligence and Information Institute, who were able to determine it was of Transformer origin but unable to discern the purpose of the capsule, dubbing it Schrödinger's Box. Eventually, the Institute was dissolved, but the Box remained in possession of some former staff who managed to obtain some Transformer technology that allowed them to probe the Box. Inside, they discovered Central Consciousness File X-9, which was revealed to be the future personality of the current Decepticon Ravage, then held in stasis by the Earth Defense Command. The File communicated with the former Institute staff, arranging for a new Binaltech body to house his consciousness in the "X-9 Revival Plan" performed under the pretense of beneficial Binaltech experiments. To provide the spark, the then-present version of Ravage was obtained and inserted into the tape deck of the Binaltech body's alternate mode. This union of past and future was able to override any failsafes set by the humans with his future knowledge of technology. Finding that the Beast Wars failed to change the future, Ravage destroyed all evidence of his existence and set out to once again alter the timeline so that the Decepticons would rule. Notes

[edit]
  • "X-9" derives from the Japanese ID number of Beast Wars Metals Jaguar.
  • In the original Japanese, Ravage is known as "Jaguar". However, the Binaltech character is known as "Ravage", perhaps reflecting that this is meant as a new character, a derivation from Jaguar.
