Central Park is a public park that occupies central Manhattan in New York City.

Fiction

The Transformers cartoon

Hearing New York City was under Decepticon attack, Optimus Prime ordered the Autobots present to head out and Sparkplug Witwicky to tell the others to rendezvous with them in Central Park. However, when the second group neared the city, Laserbeak spotted them and reported this to Megatron, who prepared a trap.

The moment Optimus Prime's group entered Central Park, they were attacked by Soundwave, Rumble and Frenzy. During the battle, Megatron had Optimus Prime separated from the other Autobots and captured. He ordered the other Autobots to leave if they didn't want him to be killed, but not before showing off the first tower of what was going to be New Cybertron. City of Steel

During the Decepticons' invasion of New York, human military forces massed in Central Park with Megatron sending Soundwave to deal with them. Releasing Frenzy, the humans fell victim to their greatest fears as the Mini-Cassette tore them apart. All Hail Megatron #2 The command centre remained untouched with Daniel Witwicky having a slight breakdown at the Decepticons' tactical brilliance and technological superiority. All Hail Megatron #3 He remained there even when Omega Supreme and Devastator began duking it out. All Hail Megatron #11 The humans then came under attack from Dropshot, being saved by Kup. Transformers/Ghostbusters

Prior to meeting the Transformers, the Ghostbusters ran afoul of the malevolent entity known as Gozer, their encounter with the being resulting in the humans exploding Gozer's "marshmallow butt" all over Central Park West. When the Ghostbusters were facing off against Kremzeek, who sough to obtain power enough to rival Gozer's, they brought up this encounter to belittle the would be Class 7. Ghosts of Cybertron Part 4
