Charlie Downs (March 22, 1927–July 21, 2008) was an American animator. Born in Richfield, Idaho, he served in the Navy before studying at the Chouinard Art Institute and becoming an animator at Disney as part of Ward Kimball's unit. During his time there he worked on Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, and Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color. He later moved on to other studios to work on the likes of The Beany and Cecil Show, SuperFriends, Pink Panther and Scooby Doo. This eventually brought him to working with Marvel Productions during the '80s, including directing work on The Transformers, My Little Pony 'n Friends and Inhumanoids. He retired in 1992, and in 2008 passed away from heart failure.
