Collector coin

Beginning in 2011, some collector-focused Transformer toys sold at particularly high pricepoints and with lavish packaging also included unique collector coins. The first such coin was included with Masterpiece Rodimus Prime; subsequent coins accompanied new releases in the Masterpiece line as well as Unite Warriors giftsets, Reissue Sixshot, and Encore Fortress Maximus. In 2019 Masterpiece figures ceased including these coins, switching to personalized character pins instead, but they continue to be used sporadically for other high-end releases, such as several of the programmable Robosen figures.
The coins are sealed and glued inside gatefold cardboard sleeves, usually decorated to resemble conspicuous markings of the character (i.e. Tracks's flames, above). The coins themselves bear the likeness of the Transformer character on the front, while the back typically features some other sculpted iconography associated with the character and/or a large engraving of their release serial number. Because the coins are glued inside, it is difficult to remove the coins without severely damaging the display sleeves.
The coins were included only with toys distributed by Hasbro Asia in Asian countries other than Japan.
When the non-Japanese release of Masterpiece Exhaust was canceled, its coin was canceled as well and is subsequently hard for collectors to locate.
