First sold on retailer shelves in 1977, Cookie Crisp is a human food product consisting of starch- and sugar-laden cereal pieces shaped to resemble cookies, perhaps to make the prospect of cookies for breakfast more palatable for children; Cybertronian sociologists can only guess at the reason. Although originally owned by company Ralston Purina, it is now produced by General Mills for release in the United States and Nestlé elsewhere in the world.
