Crosshairs (SG)

This article is about the evil Autobot Targetmaster. For his heroic counterpart, see Crosshairs (G1){{#switch:{{#sub:Crosshairs (G1)|-1}}|!=|.=|?=|.}} For a list of other meanings, see Crosshairs (disambiguation).
Crosshairs is an evil Autobot Targetmaster from the Shattered Glass continuity family.

If it were up to Crosshairs, he'd be sitting back and relaxing with a nice cold glass of liquid energon at his side. He'd make an ideal Autobot soldier and be a good shot... but that would require him to, y'know, actually try. His Targetmaster partner Pinpointer, on the other hand, tries to balance out Crosshairs's slothful tendencies with his own youthful exuberance. But until the day comes when Crosshairs gets off his rear bumper and actually fights, he makes for some ideal target practice for Decepticons needing to brush up on their skills.

[edit]

As part of his plan to prevent the Decepticons from following the Autobots into space, Ricochet gathered Scoop and Crosshairs and gave them each a Targetmaster partner. He then lured Megatron to their base in the Temple of Knowledge, where Crosshairs helped hold the Decepticon leader hostage. Ricochet was planning on pinning the whole matter on Crosshairs when Optimus Prime eventually found out what they were up to, though Crosshairs was unaware of that.

When they heard the noise of Whisper and the Predacons infiltrating the base to rescue Megatron, Ricochet sent Crosshairs and Scoop out to intercept them. Crosshairs didn't want to put in any more effort than necessary, so he hung back and convinced Scoop to go on ahead the rest of the way without him, pretending to promise to "back him up".

Unfortunately, Crosshairs' resulting attempt at a stasis nap was interrupted both by the sounds of Scoop getting into a fight, and his own being sneak-attacked and pinned down by Rampage and Divebomb. He realized he wasn't going to be able to weasel his way out of the situation without having to work for it, so he called in Pinpointer to attack the two Predacons for him. Pinpointer's attack was successful in getting the Predacons to move away, so Crosshairs got to his feet and told the two he was going to pound them for making him have to get up.

Crosshairs, Pinpointer, and the Predacons then ended up in a pitched battle. Divebomb was eventually able to successfully trick Pinpointer's missiles into dropping the floor out from under the Autobots with a well-timed feint. That didn't stop the Autobots entirely, and they launched their missiles up through the hole after the Predacons, but it wasn't enough to keep the Predacons from moving onward to successfully rescue Megatron regardless.

Later, after the Autobots returned to the Ark launch site in defeat, having missed the launch, Optimus Prime ordered Scoop to take Ricochet and Crosshairs to the Agonizing Rehabilitation Chambers. Do Over

He even looks boring in real life...
  • Warpath (Scout, 2008)
  • Accessories: Missile, Key
The live-action movie Warpath figure was officially repurposed as Shattered Glass Crosshairs.
A redeco of Cybertron Brushguard (itself a slight retool of Overhaul to remove the molded-on Autobot sigil), Warpath transforms into an off-road vehicle similar to a Humvee. Plugging his blue and black Velocitronian Cyber Planet Key into his robot mode back launches his chest-mounted missile. (While in theory you can do this in car mode too, the missile is blocked.) Like the rest of the "Allspark Power" line of toys, Warpath has blue paint applications in both modes to suggest AllSpark energies.
He was available as part of the fourth assortment of 2007 live-action movie Target exclusive Scout-class toys. This toy was also sold as a Farmers exclusive in New Zealand.
