Cutter Beam
The Cutter Beam (カッタービーム Kattā Bīmu) is one of Megatron's weapons when in robot mode. Usually voice-activated, it is fired from the crest atop Megatron's head. It is normally depicted as a yellow or green beam of energy, but it sometimes appears as lightning-style bolts or even short bursts of energy. It may or may not be related to a particle beam. Who knows?

[edit]When Megatron's kidnapping of Dr. Onishi was interrupted by Optimus Prime, Megatron used his Cutter Beam to destroy a building, burying Prime. Battle Protocol! Infuriated by the Predacons' inability to destroy a train, Megatron unleashed his Cutter Beam on the Autobots but mostly just kicked up debris. Bullet Train to the Rescue
When Optimus was later captured by the Predacons and helplessly bound, Megatron laid into him with a series of brutal punches before blasting him with the Cutter Beam. Sideburn's Obsession During the fight after Tow-Line released himself from Predacon control, Megatron fired on Side Burn and X-Brawn with the Cutter Beam, but they were able to leap out of the way. After the Autobot Brothers were captured by the Decepticons, Optimus was unable to fight back under threat of their destruction. Megatron knocked him to the ground with a Cyclone Blast before hitting him with a series of bursts from the Cutter Beam. When Ultra Magnus turned up with the rescued brothers, Megatron unsuccessfully tried to use the Cutter Beam on him. The Two Faces of Ultra Magnus
