David Messina

David Messina (born August 29, 1974 in Rome, Italy) is a comic book artist. Prior to breaking into comics, he worked in the animation industry drawing storyboards and doing character designs, as well as illustrating RPGs. He graduated from the Scuola Internazionale di Comics (International School of Comics) in Rome in 1995, and his earliest comics work was on Lazarus Ledd for Italian publisher Star Comics. He gained work with Devil's Due Press on their G.I. Joe and Voltron titles as a colorist, as well as doing a number of erotic titles for Kiss Magazine. Since 2005, he has been employed by IDW as a full artist on a multitude of titles in their Angel, Star Trek and True Blood ranges. He also currently teaches at the Scuola Internazionale di Comics.
