A Decepticon Transmitter Drone looks just like the drones dispatched by the Autobot's ship to scan for altmodes, but with a purple center instead of orange! Hmm.

Ratchet detected a Decepticon energy signal, believing it to be a Decepticon, but it was actually a "'Con Transmitter Drone". Prowl was dispatched to chase down the Transmitter Drone along I-94, and when he intercepted it, he was able to patch a Decepticon communication through to the Autobots. When they later needed to work out where the Decepticon base was, Ratchet rigged the drone to return "home". Unfortunately before they could enact their plan, the drone somehow slipped out, and they were forced to hunt Detroit for it. Optimus Prime spotted it first, and pursued it out of town to the Decepticons' secret mine base. Transformers Animated: The Game
