Rewind contracted Delta's Malady after attempting to learn everything he could about Functionist Cybertron. Trying to parse the data of an entire alternate universe's history and add it to his already-staggering personal archive overloaded Rewind's brain and caused chronic confusion and memory loss. One day he transformed and shrank down, but forgot how to change back, trapping himself in memory stick mode.
