Donald Messick (September 7, 1926–October 24, 1997) was an American voice actor. He is best known for providing the voice of countless Hanna-Barbera characters for decades, notably Scooby-Doo, Yogi Bear's pal Boo Boo, Astro on The Jetsons, Bamm Bamm and Hoppy on The Flintstones, Dr. Benton Quest on Jonny Quest, and an endless array of non-verbal dogs, cats, camels, donkeys, amorphous blobs, and other beings, before Frank Welker cornered the market.
He made a rare on-camera appearance on the short-lived sitcom The Duck Factory with Jim Carrey, where he stretched his thespian talents to play Wally Wooster, an eccentric who made his living as... a voice actor.

[edit]- Messick and the other deceased cast members of the first four episodes of the series received an In Memoriam tribute at the end of the Transformers 40th Anniversary Event in 2024.
