Electro mesh prison

Electro mesh prisons are Cybertronian technology from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Electro mesh prisons are energy nets used by the Transformers to restrain others, though presumably they have to be pretty powerful to be able to restrain other Transformers.

When all else had proven to be futile against Nightbird, the Autobots decided to try capturing her with an electro mesh prison. It worked, but the Decepticons, who had been monitoring the proceedings, came to her rescue. Megatron used his antimatter blaster to neutralize the prison and free Nightbird. Enter the Nightbird

Notes

• The script of "Enter the Nightbird" reveals that the net was originally going to be called an "electronic mesh prison".
• Speaking of the script, it describes the net as made up of blue, thick, wavy energy lines. In the episode itself, the lines are orange. It also states that the net produces a high oscillating whine, which makes Nightbird cover her "ears". The animation is there, but the sound is barely noticeable, making it completely unclear as to why Nightbird covers her ears and appears to be in pain.
