Electron storm

An electron storm is a space-borne weather phenomena from the cartoon portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Electron storms are storms in space characterized by heavy brown clouds charged with an electrical field which can produce arcs of electricity. Any vessels traveling through an electron storm will experience large amounts of electrical discharge and risk damage to machinery and electronic components. Mechanical life forms may be particularly affected.

Generation 1 cartoon continuity

A Quintesson ship on which Ultra Magnus, Wreck-Gar, Cyclonus, and Marissa Faireborn were being held captive drifted into an electron storm while the controlling Quintesson scientist and his Allicon guard were busy with the prisoners. Electrical arcs lashed the ship and its occupants, damaging almost all of the ship's escape pods. With some effort, the Allicon was eventually able to steer the ship out of the storm, however the diversion provided the prisoners with enough time to escape. The Killing Jar
