Like a boss!

Energon Drillers were at work in one of the Decepticons' Energon mines which Starscream showed to Megatron. When the Autobots attacked the mine in an attempt to recover Cliffjumper, several miners tried to use their Energon Drillers to fend them off, but were easily tossed aside. The machines were presumably destroyed when Starscream then blew up the mine. Darkness Rising, Part 2

Three Energon Drillers were stored inside a supposedly stripped energon mine that Starscream was using for himself. After Arcee and Megatron brought the mine down in a gunfight, Jack Darby commandeered an Energon Driller to rescue Miko and Bulkhead. Rock Bottom

The Decepticons also possess a smaller class of Energon Driller. Stronger, Faster Knock Out and some miners used a drill to uncover an Iacon relic in New York's subway system. Tunnel Vision

Part of the second wave of Prime Series 2 Cyberverse Vehicle playsets, the Energon Driller has two modes, a normal one and an "attack" mode. In normal mode, the drill spins as the wheels on the bottom turn by pushing the Driller forward. To switch modes, there is a slider just behind where the pilot would be positioned which activates an auto-morph. In attack mode, two missile launchers flip out while the sections they are mounted on swivel out at about a 30 degree angle. The missile launchers can each be manned by a Legion Class figure (a Commander Class may also fit, albeit barely).
Another feature is the "Energon Booster", a small piece of plastic shaped like a gun that lights up when a button on the main body of the Driller is pressed. It can be positioned in various places throughout the Driller, including into the drill itself, into the backs of the rocket launchers (which makes them light up at the front), and in several other positions across the main body through both 3mm and 5mm holes. It can also be attached to any Cyberverse figure and their weapons. In "attack" mode, pressing the button also spins the drill which is no longer activated by the wheels on the bottom of the Driller.
Additionally, a small (undocumented) hatch exists near the base of the Energon Booster's wire, allowing for storage of said wire. The Driller comes with Legion Class Knock Out.

  • Energon Driller with Bumblebee (Cyberverse Vehicle, 2013)
    • Series / Number: 3 / 003
    • Accessories: Two missiles, prod, saw, Eagleshot Bow, Energon Booster
  • Known designers: Joe Kyde (Hasbro){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}
Part of the second wave of Prime: Beast Hunters Series 3 Cyberverse Vehicle playsets, this is a redeco and minor retool of the Series 2 Driller, being cast primarily in yellow, black, and (unusually for a Series 3 Cyberverse product) translucent-blue plastics, and having its electronics removed. It comes with a redeco of Series 3 Legion Class Bumblebee. The Energon Booster is still included, albeit as a separate piece no longer connected to the rest of the Driller by a power cable.
The Bumblebee Energon Driller was notoriously absent from US retail for many months after being available from online retailers and even appearing at retail in Hasbro's Asian and eventually European markets. It wasn't until much later that it finally became available through discount stores such as Ross, although there have also been sightings at Toys"R"Us Express, Hastings and Tuesday Morning stores.
