In a world defined by carefully rationed energon supplies, the only way around it is to get yourself an energon siphon. The energon siphon redirects energon to a microwave transmitter, beaming it down secretly to waiting recipients.

After the passage of the Nominus Edict, the flow of energon was strictly controlled, being produced by the Winged Moon and beamed down to Cybertron via energon transmission stations. The World In Your Eyes Part Three In response to this, members of the terrorist organization The Rise went underground, cutting them off from their assigned rations. As a result, they needed an illicit source of energon to keep their operations going. The Cracks Beneath Your Feet Part Three The solution came from the infiltration trooper Enemy, who snuck onto the Winged Moon, and installed a siphon to collect energon, Wheeljack: Orbital Decay and transmit it down to The Rise's various hidden bases, where it could be distributed among their members.
