"Escape" is an instrumental piece composed by Vince DiCola for The Transformers: The Movie and featured on its soundtrack. The track starts directly after the coronation sequence when we return to Earth, and continues during the Decepticons' attack on Autobot City and the Autobot evacuation aboard two shuttles. It features a phat beat and some epic electric guitar.

Edits
[edit]While the complete track runs for 4 minutes, 46 seconds, it is heavily edited for its appearance in the movie, with segments cut or repeated as necessary.
- The movie skips the first 20 seconds of the track, jumping over the synth intro to a more dramatic bit.
- After playing for about a minute, the track jumps back to the 0:53 mark as Arcee and Daniel run from Decepticon lasers.
- As Galvatron shakes his fist in anger at Grimlock, the track jumps back to the 0:53 mark again, just to stretch things out.
- A few seconds later, it skips forward to the 2:04 mark as Grimlock and Sludge start flaming the Sweeps.
- Around half a minute later, as Hot Rod is pulling Grimlock up the shuttle ramp, the track skips about ten seconds to the 2:49 point.
- Another edit of a few seconds is covered by Springer's "But if you get space sick, you're gonna walk home." line.
- And yet another just before we see Ultra Magnus and Springer at the controls of the shuttle.
- The track ends over a shot of the two shuttles flying safely through space.
Notes
[edit]- A preliminary version of "Escape" was used as the score on the movie's theatrical teaser trailer.
- "Escape" was later used as the main theme of the Commodore 64 version of the computer game [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Turrican|{{#if:||Turrican}}]].
