Exhaust weaponry

Exhaust piping is a means of venting waste heat and gasses from a vehicle. Some Transformers have exhaust piping that doubles as weaponry.

Generation 1

[edit]
  • The sections of exhaust tubing on Hot Rod's forearms act as triple blasters, which he seems to prefer over his photon pistols. As they are powerful enough to take down a shuttle, this is understandable.
  • Pipes's trademark weapons are his smokestacks. They're not just capable of venting normal exhaust, but can also emit corrosive gasses so strong they can completely destroy a two-inch-thick slab of steel in under ten minutes. However, even the slightest scratch in his own corrosion-resistant armor will allow his weapons to eat just as effectively through his own steel skin.
  • Smokescreen's signature weapon is (not surprisingly) a thick cloud of magnetized smoke he emits from his tailpipe. Usually, he's able to leave his Decepticon foes in the dust as they choke through a thick wall of smoke that clings to their very skin. But anyone with proper shielding or superior sensory equipment can just shrug it off.
  • Cosmos's only weapons in robot mode are his wrist-mounted thrusters. That's good enough for him, since they pack enough of a punch to down a small fleet of flying saucers.

Unicron Trilogy

[edit]

Armada

[edit]
  • Optimus Prime seems to have exhaust tubes which acts as powerful blasters.

Cybertron

[edit]
  • Ransack's engine block can become a dual blaster when powered up with his Cyber Key. The exhaust pipes flip forward to become the barrels. His callout for this in the Japanese version is, in fact, "Exhaust Shot". Clocker has a similar weapon.
  • Override's engine block does the same thing. While the Cyber Key is necessary to activate the weaponry on her toy, the cartoon is unclear as to whether the key activates the gun or just boosts the damage it does.
  • Crumplezone's turbine exhausts flip forward to become his "Barium Bazookas" when he uses his Cyber Key.
  • Dutch serves double-duty as Lugnutz's exhaust system.

Transformers: One

[edit]
  • Optimus Prime's smokestacks could flip 180 degrees to serve as arm-mounted flamethrowers.
