Extinguisher rifle

The Autobot fire truck Inferno carries an extinguisher rifle, appropriately enough.

Toys
[edit]The Transformers
[edit]
- Inferno (Autobot Car, 1985, 1991)
- Accessories: left & right fists, extinguisher rifle, three missiles, two hose nozzles
- The Transformers Inferno could be armed with a small black extinguisher rifle in robot mode.
- This mold was variously retooled and redecoed to make The Transformers Grapple, e-HOBBY RoadHauler, and The Headmasters Artfire. All except Artfire—due to his Targetmaster gimmick—came with a more or less identical weapon; Grapple carries an arc-welder rifle, while RoadHauler uses a vibro-force gun.
- Inferno was reissued in 1991 as part of the European/Australian Classics line, in 2001 for Takara's Collector's Edition series, and again in 2003 in the The Transformers Collection series. He was also reissued by Hasbro in 2003 and 2006 for Generation One Commemorative Series V.
Generation 2
[edit]
- Inferno (Autobot Hero, 1993)
- Accessories: left & right fists, rifle, water weapon, two hose nozzles
- Although labelled as a generic rifle in Generation 2 Inferno's instructions, it is explicitly called an extinguisher rifle in his packaging bio.
Masterpiece
[edit]
- Inferno (November 26, 2016)
- Accessories: four faces, two heads, chromed hand blaster, white hand blaster, chrome-grilled chest, two gray-grilled chests, sticker sheet, water spray, fire hose, extinguisher rifle, two communication radar dishes, die-cast Optimus Prime figure (Asian preorder only)
- Masterpiece Inferno came with many accessories, including a suitably upscaled extinguisher rifle which was given its own section on his packaging. It is, of course, very similar to Masterpiece Grapple's arc-welder rifle and more or less identical to Artfire's own extinguisher rifle (see below).

- Accessories: extinguisher rifle, Nightstick Targetmaster partner, two faces
- As a retool and redeco of Masterpiece Inferno, Artfire came with an extinguisher file, very much like Inferno's.
Notes
[edit]- The package art at the top of this page portrays the extinguisher rifle with a hose that feeds into Inferno's arm. This is not a part of the original toy the art represents, nor in any version of the rifle in media.
- In the section for the extinguisher rifle on Masterpiece Inferno's packaging, it notes that Meister praised Inferno for shooting down Condor (in "The Insecticon Syndrome"), however in the animation Inferno fired from one of the "missiles" replacing his right hand rather than his hand-held extinguisher rifle, necessitating some clunky exposition about how he is somehow able to merge the two together.
- According to his packaging, Artfire built his own extinguisher rifle.
