Alternators/Binaltech Tracks was originally intended to feature spring-loaded arm cannons that would have deployed by pushing a button on the sides of the arms. The final toy instead features a sliding mechanism to deploy the arm cannons by moving a peg on the top of the arms.

  • Upper left: Promotional photo depicting a hand-painted prototype, used (among other things) for early solicitations of both the Alternators and Binaltech versions and the Binaltech version's packaging.
  • Upper center: Photo of an unpainted prototype depicted in the April 2004 edition of Dengeki Hobby Magazine.
  • Upper right and lower half: Hasbro's instructions for the Alternators version.
