The ever-changing design of Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime's Matrix compartment:
- Top row: Two doors in the middle of the flame design on Rodimus Prime's chest swing to both sides to reveal a rectangular chamber holding the Matix, as seen in "Five Faces of Darkness, Part 4".
- Second row: The entire flame design on Rodimus Prime swings to the right to reveal a cavity in the same shape as the flame design (with a layering error resulting in his hand reaching behind the cavity rather than inside it), as seen in "Dark Awakening".
- Third row: The flame design on Hot Rod's chest now swings to the left to reveal a (slightly differently-looking) rectangular chamber for holding the Matrix, as seen at a later point in "Dark Awakening".
- Bottom row: Two huge doors on Rodimus Prime's chest swing to both sides to reveal an enormous chamber the size of his entire chest, as seen in "The Return of Optimus Prime, Part 2".
