File talk:Insecticons SG.jpg

Besides this picture, i don't remember if any SG fiction indicates what Shrapnel (SG) and Bombshell (SG) look like.

Is it true that Salvo (G1) was repurposed as Bombshell (SG)? The colors are close, but the layout is wrong.

Is it true that Zaptrap was repurposed as Shrapnel (SG)? The colors kinda match, but the layout is wrong, Zaptrap's article does not mention SG Shrapnel, and SG Shrapnel's article explicitly states that "To date, Shrapnel's only appearance is on the BotCon 2008 "One Generation Shattered" lithograph," which shows the not-matching colors.

Depictions of the SG Insecticons' G1 counterparts often leave out the Deluxe Insecticons, focusing on the Shrapnel-Bombshell-Kickback trio.

The G1 Monsterbot trio includes an insect-creature/bug-thing whose deco reminds me of the Bombshell-shaped guy in this picture, and the Shrapnel-shaped guy in this picture is colored like another Monsterbot. Speculation on my part, and maybe a coincidence (the colors of these SG Insecticons also remind me of two of the G1 Autobot Targetmasters), but plausible enough to be worth mentioning, i'd say.

The only reason why the layouts are wrong is because of the fact that the picture is a small bit from a lithograph. They're definitely the ehobby toys. Escargon (talk) 18:37, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
Actually, apologies. I was looking on my phone screen, now I see what your talking about. Still, I'm pretty sure Bombshell is described with Salvo's colors in Blitzwing Bop. Escargon (talk) 18:52, 23 June 2017 (EDT)
Thanks. You're right about black-and-red Bombshell in Blitzwing Bop. i think we normally try to mention stuff even if it gets retconned away, though, right?
i am also removing the bit about the lithograph being SG Shrapnel's only appearance. i don't know if it's true, but if it is, then saying Zaptrap was repurposed as SG Shrapnel must be false, because the colors don't match. Unless the illustrator made a mistake or something.
