Frankenstein's monster

(Redirected from Frankentron)
PUTTIN' ON THE RITZ!!!

Frankenstein's monster is a monster brought to life by Doctor Frankenstein. In some realities where he is a robot constructed from desecrated Cybertronian corpses, this frightening mishmash of spare parts instead goes by the name Frankentron.

While Spike recovered from a serious operation, one that left his mind in the body of Autobot X, he watched a movie on Teletraan I. The movie featured an inanimate being made of mis-matching parts and an evil brain. A hunched creature begged the creator of the behemoth, Dr. Frankenstein, not to reanimate the grotesque parody of life. The Doctor, however, thought that the creature would be grateful for the giant and powerful body given to him and vivified the monster. As it started to growl, the voice of the hunchback shrieked at Frankenstein that he had created a monster. Autobot Spike

The monster was one of the creatures conjured up by Daniel Witwicky's dreams, and used by the Quintessons to menace Rodimus, Ultra Magnus, Springer, and the Predacons. Nightmare Planet

Collaborative Frankentron is a retooling of Siege Impactor, transforming into a Cybertronian tank. In place of Impactor's rifle/turret-cannon, he comes with a large Tesla coil, which can be plugged into his vehicle mode turret to create a fantasy lightning gun. He also has a purple "lightning" bolt effect piece that fits on the orb-end of the coil. Curiously this effect piece has a diagonal 5 mm post towards its base; just where this is meant to be used is unclear.
As this is a crossover with Universal Studios, the toy is specifically meant to call back to the [[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Frankenstein (1931 film)|{{#if:1931 Frankenstein film|1931 Frankenstein film|Frankenstein (1931 film)}}]]. Thus the classic flat-topped head with neck-bolts, and new hands molded to reference the movie monster's arms-out staggering posture. His chest and thighs have also been retooled to give him more asymmetry, as befitting the made-of-parts monster.
Like Draculus, his box is designed to resemble a VHS case, with an inner slide out portion resembling a VHS tape. The inner tape "labels" and backing the figure is attached to has a message written in Ancient Autobot that translates to "Its alive" [sic].
Frankentron was exclusive to Amazon.com and various gift shops at Universal Studios theme parks, with small quantities also available on Hasbro Pulse.
