Fred Carrillo (1926August 18, 2005) was a background and model designer, though he was foremost known as a comic book artist. Born in Kalibo, Philippines, Wilfredo Carrillo began drawing at a young age. During World War II, he drew propaganda for the Panay guerrilla movement, following which he established himself as one of the Philippines' pioneering comic artists. In the early 70s, he began working internationally for the likes of DC Comics and also began dabbling again in animation. He was soon dividing his work between both the comics and animation fields. As well as being a model and background designer on The Transformers, he worked on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, She-Ra: Princess of Power, Visionaries, Captain N, the DiC G.I. Joe, and Bucky O'Hare and the Toad Wars!. He moved back to the Philippines in 2005 due to his failing health.
