Summary
[edit]After a GroundBridge malfunction, Optimus Prime is transported to the Amazon jungle, where he comes across a lone Vehicon stuck in quicksand. The Vehicon explains that he was knocked into quicksand by Starscream, who was angry at the Vehicon's failure to find energon. He left the Vehicon trapped, apparently promising for help that never came. He begs Optimus to finish him off, preferring it to a long death trapped in the ground. Optimus refuses to take the life of a defenseless Cybertronian and uses a nearby tree to pull out the Vehicon. As he succeeds in doing so, he is enveloped in webs. Airachnid has the Autobot leader at her mercy!
Fuming over losing Jack and Arcee in her last hunt, Airachnid decides she'll be satisfied with Prime's head. After ordering the Vehicon to get up and keep watch for any other Autobots, Airachnid leans in for the kill... only to be knocked over by the Vehicon! Airachnid threatens to end the Vehicon's life, but Optimus breaks free of her webs and punches her into the quicksand. After the Vehicon explains his altruistic act as an "accident" and promises he won't go easy on the Autobot the next time they meet, Optimus takes his leave via GroundBridge and joins his comrades, who are happy to see their leader home and safe.
