Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

Frostbite took bets on the Games held by the Builders. During Buzzclaw's final game, Buzzclaw recognized his odds of winning were low and wished he could bet against himself, though he knew Frostbite would've intervened to prevent much of a payout. Years later after another game was interrupted by Lio Convoy's revolt against the Builders and most contestants escaped, Frostbite refused to pay out any money until the Builders declared which side had won. • Frostbite (Deluxe Class, 2005)
  • Accessories: Tail-blade
  • Known designers: Marcelo Matere (packaging artist){{#if: |, {{{2}}}}}
Part of the eighth wave of Universe Deluxes, Frostbite is a redeco of the Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Maximal Jawbreaker, transforming into a twisted cyber-organic hyena. The tail becomes a massive, multi-bladed sword. A push-trigger spins a buzzsaw on the beast mode back, which becomes the robot mode's right arm.
The hyena jaws were designed to swing down and away from the rest of the head, forming a more distinct grasping hand for the robot mode. This feature is shown on the packaging photographs, but on the final toy it was "neutered" by the addition of rigid plastic pegs locking the jaws into the skull. It is possible to carefully break these pegs in order to restore the feature.
