Gemma Chan

"I think it's our plan to conquer the planet and make humanity our slaves."
Gemma Chan (born November 29, 1982) is a British actress and former model. She's had notable recurring roles as Charlotte in Secret Life of a Call Girl, Keira in Bedlam, and Hattie James in Shetland on TV, as well as the films Belles families and Shanghai and the London staging of the film Yellow Face and Turandot. She starred as the synthetic Mia in Humans, where her character went undercover as a human in series 2, sort of a robot in, what's the right word, subterfuge, that sounds right.
Her recent work was Astrid Leong-Teo in the Asian-American lead romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians, Namaari in Disney's Raya and the Last Dragon animated feature, Maya Fey-Taylor/Nirmata in The Creator, and twice within the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Minn-Erva in Captain Marvel and Sersi in Eternals.

[edit]Notes
[edit]- An android of her was made for a one-off documentary to both promote the second series of Humans and see if journalists could tell whether they were interviewing the real human or 'Gemmabot'.[1] It is the eeriest goddamn thing you've ever seen. It was displayed in the gift shop of London's Science Museum's 2017 robot exhibition.
