Virginia "Ginny" McSwain (November 2, 1951) is a retired voice director and occasional voice actor. She was first employed at Hanna Barbera in the mid-70s and became casting director on The Smurfs. Since then she has voice directed a multitude of animated shows and video games, including My Little Pony 'n Friends, The Batman, The Mask, Earthworm Jim, Sonic the Hedgehog, Darkwing Duck, Goof Troop, W.I.T.C.H. and the Mass Effect and Dragon Age game series.

She also occasionally acts, and was most notably Lois Lane on the late-80s Ruby-Spears Superman cartoon. After a stint on G.I. Joe: Renegades, she became voice director for Transformers: Rescue Bots. She would later go on to voice direct the officially-unreleased Micronauts cartoon and Magic the Gathering cartoon, the latter of which was her final voice directing gig before retirement.

Trivia

[edit]
  • Surprising no one, she of course inspired the name and likeness of the Doctor McSwain character in Rescue Bots as well as providing the voice. She was also the namesake for Virginia.
  • In what is a case of being a small world, McSwain's older brother was Townsend Coleman's 8th grade teacher.
