Glynn Turman (born January 31, 1947) is a veteran American actor of television and film for over sixty years. In television, he has played Lew Miles in Peyton Place, Bradford Taylor in A Different World, Mayor Clarence Royce in HBO's The Wire and Jeremiah Kaan in House of Lies. While in film, he had appeared in a number of blaxploitation films in the 1970s, with one of them being high school student Leroy "Preach" Jackson in the coming of age film, Cooley High. Since then, he has appeared in the likes Penitentiary II, Gremlins, Deep Cover, How Stella Got Her Groove Back, Men of Honor, Sahara, Kings of the Evening, Burlesque, Super 8 and The Way Back.
At one point, he was married to Aretha Franklin.<ref>[1]</ref>
