Gnashteeth is a Predacon-allied Mini-Con originally from the Japanese portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Function: Cosplayer.

Gnashteeth (ナッシュティース Nasshutīsu) is the "God of Destruction" of the Predacons. His motto is, "There is nothing that cannot be destroyed with my two arms!" One imagines he means his robot mode arms, though the idea of a robotic Tyrannosaurus who uses his tiny flailing forelimbs as his primary weapon is compelling.

At some later point, Gnashteeth adopts the name Chromebite (クロムバイト Kuromubaito) and changes his motto to "The light of honor heralds shining destruction!".<ref>Micron Booster material</ref>

Notes

[edit]
  • None of the Micron Boosters came with any Romanized names on their blindboxed packaging, and thus the character's name may also be Romanized as "Gnashties", rhyming with "nasties". Ah, Japanglish puns.
  • Speaking of names, the original solicitations for Micron Booster Ver. 4 labeled chase-piece Chromebite as "Gnashteeth chromed version" (ナッシュティースメッキバージョン), which also appears on Takaratomy's web-site. However, the actual toy-packaging labels the piece as a separate character from Gnashteeth. In 2015, the Facebook edition of Ask Vector Prime would declare "Chromebite" to be an upgraded form of Gnashteeth.
  • Gnashteeth's coloration is a pretty clear homage to Beast Wars Megatron's original purple T. rex body. Meanwhile, his dark purple chrome and metallic bronze coloration as Chromebite is a likely homage to Beast Wars Megatron's Transmetal T. rex body. The homage came full circle in the Beast Wars: Uprising story "Identity Politics", where Megatron's name prior to the formation of the Darksyders was Gnashteeth.
