Synopsis

Bumblebee and Cliffjumper are on their way back to Autobot headquarters after purchasing some delicious donuts when Starscream swoops down from above and snatches the treats away! Rightfully cheesed off, Cliffjumper unfurls his bazooka from his vehicle mode and fires off a withering volley of blasts at the Seeker, but Starscream effortlessly dodges them all. The Decepticon retaliates by throwing a handful of spikes on the road, puncturing Cliffjumper's tires and causing him to spin out. But Cliffjumper remains undeterred as he transforms to robot mode and gives unrelenting chase to Starscream on foot!

A terrified Starscream attempts to shake his pursuer by flying over natural obstacles such as a river and a flow of lava, but they are not enough to halt the hotheaded Autobot – Cliffjumper swims his way through the river and rafts over the lava on a slab of rock, much to Starscream's horror. Even when the Seeker flies over a dense forest, Cliffjumper's dogged pursuit is unstoppable as he wades through vines and swamps to deliver Starscream his comeuppance!

However, one thing Cliffjumper can't do is fly, so Starscream manages to lead him off a precipitous cliff. Though Cliffjumper makes his best jump from the cliff (heh), he just barely misses Starscream's ankle and plummets to the ground below. Relieved, the Seeker prepares to make his getaway in peace... but Cliffjumper is once again on the pursuit, having forcibly enlisted the help of a local condor to fly after Starscream! This time Cliffjumper successfully grabs Starscream, and looms menacingly at the Decepticon...

Back at base, Bumblebee and Cliffjumper enjoy their donuts as Cliffjumper barks at a captive Starscream (forced into cook duty, with his null-rays confiscated) to keep them coming.

• This story was published as the June 2025 issue of the web comic and advertised Studio Series Gamer Edition Cliffumper and Rise of the Beasts Bumblebee, Premium Finish Starscream, the Transformers Fan Book 2024, and the first collected edition of Go! Go!.

Transformers references

• Cliffjumper makes his full debut here following a cameo the previous winter, again sporting a character model based on his Earthrise mold down to the transformation scheme in Oda's usual toy-accurate style, sporting a color scheme somewhat hybridized between its various releases to produce a deco more faithful to the Generation 1 cartoon than may be strictly speaking possible with the sprue layout considerations of a physical toy.
• This issue prominently features Cliffjumper's bazooka from his Earthrise toy, itself a reference to his appearance in the very first episode of the Generation 1 cartoon.
