"Don't be too proud of this technological terror you've constructed."

Primus is a warrior god and no warrior god is complete without powerful weapons. The God Gun is the ultimate embodiment of that belief, turning Cybertron itself into a weapon to be used against the heavens.

The predecessors of the Functionist doctrine believed that if Cybertron were tilted at just the right angle, it could refract the light from its star and become, in laybot's terms, "a cosmic Pathblaster", being able to destroy space-based threats, namely asteroids. To do this however, Cybertron had to be in pristine condition, the various wars throughout its history doing too much damage to the surface for the God Gun's existence to be confirmed. As a result, this story was not widely known with those aware of it treating it with derision. Farsickness

To combat the threat of an alternate universe's Functionist Council encroaching on their world, the Grand Architect developed a plan to create an exponentially more powerful God Gun, incorporating five Cybertrons in its firing array. Using a hollow mold, he created the five duplicates and was able to combine their God Guns into a single laser that was powerful enough to drill a hole into the next universe over. In trying to prevent the future however, the Architect had brought it to pass, his portal allowing the Functionists passage into his universe. Farsickness The Return of the King

Though the Architect simply thought to use the God Gun to create a second portal and force the Functionists back into their world, the invaders immediately began destroying the duplicate Cybertrons, considering the 'graven images' affronts to Primus, thereby destroying the God Gun.
