Griffins, also spelled griffons, are hybrid creatures that possess the head, wings, and front legs of an eagle and the body of a lion. They appear in Earth mythology though their actual existence is subject to doubt. They are related to ursagryphs.

The 2001 Robots in Disguise Galvatron toy features a griffin as one of its 10 modes. The Megatron toy released in the US line also has this as an undocumented mode as it was based on the Galvatron retool.

The Mini-Cons Talon and Hunter from the Rescue Bots toyline can combine to form a griffin.

There are also two toys that transform into the related "ursagryph".
