Gwen Wetzler is an American animator, producer and director who was a producer on the first two seasons of The Transformers. She started in the animation business at Disney in 1955 as an inbetween animator and worked her way up from there. By the '80s, she had already become the first woman to direct animation at a major studio and had done so on Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, The New Adventures of Batman, The New Archie/Sabrina Hour, Flash Gordon and Sport Billy. By producing on The Transformers, she became the first woman to produce animation for a major studio, and went on to produce on Jem and The Legend of Prince Valiant. Her later directorial work included He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Tiny Toon Adventures, and All Dogs Go to Heaven: The Series.
More recently she has returned to her fine art roots, founding A.Muse Salon with three fellow animation professionals through which they exhibit their work.
