Hard energy net

"Hard energy nets" are restraining devices Predacons sometimes use. The physical equipment consists of two poles to be set up on opposite ends. If the detectors register movement between the two poles, a net of hard energy is generated. Anything caught in the hard energy beams gets stuck as if the net is sticky and too much movement causes the energy to unleash into the captives until they stop moving.

[edit]Starscream and BB had set up five hard energy nets in Insectron territory when, rather than Insectrons, their first catch consisted of Dirge and Thrust. Starscream couldn't be bothered to free them and even less so when he was alerted about another catch, this time the Insectrons Bigmos and Tonbot. Because Starscream intended to trick them in fighting the Maximals, he destroyed the net to make himself appear trustworthy. The Insect Corps Arrive
