Haruna is a human from DreamMix TV World Fighters.
Where exactly does one buy a megaphone in duck form anyway?

Haruna (ハルナ, born November 3, 1987) is the new announcer and co-host for the World Fighters show. Energetic to the point of hyperactivity, she can often be found shouting into her trademark duck-shaped megaphone during battles, and even while in the studio. Her appearance on World Fighters marks her television debut, and she hopes the position will launch her career and propel her into stardom. As a result, she takes her commentator position very seriously and will do anything to raise audience ratings, even at the expense of her co-host Mujoe.

As part of DreamMix TV's attempt to pull in more ratings for the television show World Fighters, extraordinary beings from many worlds were recruited to do battle on the show. Haruna, who had recently joined the show, acted as the announcer for these matches. At the start of the broadcast, she explained the rules of World Fighters by demonstrating on Mujoe.

During a break after the second fight, Haruna got so excited that she made a dramatic entrance with a flying spiral punch that knocked Mujoe to the ground. She lightly scolded Mujoe for lying down on the job, unaware of her role in him doing so, then resumed announcing, confirming that the next match would be two-on-one.

Following the fourth battle, Mujoe resumed co-hosting, though he was unsure where Haruna was. He didn't have to wait long for an answer, as Haruna descended from above on a giant disco ball encouraging the challenger to do their best in the remaining two fights, which she confirmed would be two-on-one and three-on-one. Suddenly, the rod on the disco ball broke, sending both the ball and Haruna crashing down onto Mujoe. With swirly eyes and duckies floating around her head, the dizzied Haruna told the audience to stay tuned before falling over backwards.

After the final match concluded, Mujoe paced back and forth, anxious that the sponsors might be upset that the competition ended so quickly. Worried about the possibility of her first TV gig being suddenly cancelled, Haruna broke down crying. Mujoe tried to correct her that he never said anything about cancellation, but Haruna declared that there was still one more fight to be had—something that baffled Mujoe, who thought her count was off. Haruna then revealed that the Hige Hige Gang had constructed a UFO, and declared that Mujoe would be the final opponent! Despite Mujoe's protests, Haruna declared that everything was for the show and its ratings, and kicked Mujoe into the air, landing him upside-down in the pilot's seat of the UFO. As the final "stage" was constructed, Haruna challenged the champion to clear this final battle, wishing Mujoe good luck.

Following Mujoe's defeat, Haruna announced the champion's final rating before ending the broadcast. DreamMix TV World Fighters

Notes

[edit]
  • Unlike everyone else in DreamMix TV World Fighters, Haruna does not hail from any preexisting franchise, having been created specifically for this game.
  • A small blimp with an image of Haruna's megaphone printed on the side can be seen in the Power Pro Stadium stage.
  • Haruna shares a birthdate with her voice actress, Risa Mizuno.
  • While Haruna would never show up in any other games, she would get a very subtle nod in the 2018 Bomberman spinoff Bombergirl via the game's announcer character, Live Girl, who uses a nearly identical-looking duck megaphone.
