Restructuring
[edit]User:Jeysie/Help:_Contents
Originally did this right before the crash (luckily the Google cache saved it after all...)
Basically I attempted to re-word some parts of it to be terser and a little less... confrontational, and I also attempted to make sure every help page was included on it (some pages are missing on the current version) and in a more coherent structure. --Jeysie 11:53, 5 June 2009 (EDT)
- Bumping in the hopes of comments, since I think we at least need to make the currently missing help links more easily findable, especially the example articles. --Jeysie 21:11, 12 July 2009 (EDT)
Am I seriously the only one who feels that we need like a forum page or something?
[edit]Or am I the only idiot who can't find one. Sorry, first things first! Yes I'm new, and this is the first time I've ever signed up on a MediaWIki wiki.
I've been a big fan of this particular one for quite a while and being the only transformers fan I know, I decided to sign up here and meet the community.
So is there like a page for discussions or something only visible to members? Cause I can't find one. I would like to express my beliefs about MediaWiki being really ugly and I must ask you, do you not have access to the CSS or something? Just make it prettier!
P.S. Transformers.wikia was managed by the same people? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Furhun (talk • contribs) 08:12, 13 September 2016.
- First: Sign your comments with ~~~~.
- Second: sounds like you want the Community Portal.
- Third: I think you're probably the first person ever to complain about the wiki's appearance, and I'm curious as to what you actually think is wrong with it.
- Fourth: Yes, it was, but now the wikia isn't managed by... anyone, really. --Riptide (talk) 08:31, 13 September 2016 (EDT)
- Oh, I did check out the community portal. Just confused about how things are done... as you can see, I don't even know how to sign an comment.. Well, the only thing wrong with the appearance is the same as whatever's wrong with all mediawiki wikis. One could argue that we could make it more readible. Help...
[edit]I'm trying to add the Vintage G1 reissues to the Walmart page since they're Walmart exclusives, but I preview my changes, the things I listed have an unnecessary at the end, and I have no idea how to get rid of it. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to fix it? I badly need help. CyclonustheWarrior (talk) 10:42, 11 January 2019 (EST)
- It'd be easier to diagnose the issue if we could actually see it. I'd suggest creating a sandbox page you can use to experiment with it without having to disrupt the original page. That way, other users can also take a look at it and help you figure out what's wrong. Here, use this link to get one set up. -- Cyberlink420 (talk) 13:24, 11 January 2019 (EST)
- It's alright, I've managed it. --CyclonustheWarrior (talk) 15:45, 11 January 2019 (EST)
Removing Stubs once page/section is filled
[edit]Want to make sure I don't violate any policies, are regular users allowed to delete stub markers if the page has been demonstrably added to so it's not a stub? I noticed we have a bunch of Episode Stubs articles that have been filled up really well and I thought clearing them out would be helpful so we aren't going to pages that don't need the work. If that's an admin thing no problem - User:TransFormersfan1 (User talk: TransFormersfan1) 14:03 PM 1 December 2020 (EST)
